The 2030 class has arrived. After a summer of evaluations, new faces, and standout performances, the Sudden Exposure 2030 Girls Texas Top 60 has been updated. This class is loaded with talent and upside as they prepare to begin their high school careers. Here’s our latest look at the Top 60 prospects in Texas, including evaluations on the Top 25.
1. Jordin Lee | 5’8 PG | Fort Bend Elkins
Lee is a high-IQ point guard with an elite handle and advanced feel for the position. Her ability to pass and finish with either hand makes her difficult to contain, and she has shown comfortable range from three. Defensively, Lee is an elite on-ball defender who embraces the challenge of guarding high-level offensive guards. The next step is becoming more vocal as a floor general, continuing to improve her dribble efficiency, and learning exactly where she wants to get on the floor. As she matures, I also expect to see more games where she takes over as a scorer. Her freshman season at Elkins should give her an opportunity to show another layer of her game.
2. Trinity Boyd | 5’9 PG | Grace Prep
Boyd is a long, crafty point guard with good athleticism and the ability to run an offense or carry the scoring load when needed. She has good touch on her floater, is comfortable getting to her pull-up, and is a willing volume three-point shooter. Her length also impacts the game defensively, where she can jump passing lanes and provides unusual shot-blocking ability for a point guard. Improving her left-hand finishing and becoming a more consistent playmaker when forced to her weak hand will be important. The three-ball can come in bunches; becoming more consistent from game to game would take another step forward in her development.
3. Lauren Smith | 6’3 F | Allen
Smith is a mobile 6’3 forward with an impressive frame, production, and considerable long-term upside. What separates her at this stage is that she isn’t limited to playing around the basket. She can put the ball on the floor and has flashed legitimate playmaking ability, including delivering accurate passes in transition. She is already an elite rebounder for her age and has the physical tools to impact both ends. Improving her overall motor will be important as her competition increases. If the three-point shot develops into a consistent weapon, Smith has the potential to become a highly versatile stretch forward.
4. Destiny Ellis | 6’2 W | Plano Senior
Ellis is a long, athletic wing with high-level defensive versatility. At 6’2, she has the physical tools to defend multiple positions and has shown excellent timing as a shot blocker. Offensively, she has flashed the ability to knock down catch-and-shoot jumpers, giving her legitimate two-way upside. Tightening her handle will allow her to create more offense instead of primarily finishing plays. I’d also like to see her sustain the same motor and intensity for longer stretches. The physical tools are there for Ellis to develop into one of the more impactful two-way wings in the class.
5. Danita Mabry | 5’11 W | SA Wagner
Mabry is a long, high-IQ wing with sneaky athleticism and a competitive edge. She can knock down open threes, finish around the rim, and defend both size and speed. Her handle is effective, and her combination of length, shooting potential, and defensive mentality gives her the tools to develop into an elite 3-and-D prospect. Mabry competes and has shown the mentality to make plays when games matter. Continuing to develop her change of pace, becoming more comfortable creating to her right, and finding greater consistency in the midrange will make her an even more complete offensive threat.
6. Aryelle Franklin | 6’3 F | Dynamic Prep
Franklin is a 6’3 forward with intriguing tools and considerable upside. She has shown flashes of pushing the ball and making plays in the open floor, knocking down an outside shot, and finding teammates with drop-off passes around the paint. Her length gives her significant defensive potential as well. For Franklin, the next step is turning flashes into consistent production. Improving her motor, consistency, and overall mentality from possession to possession will be important. She has many of the physical and skill tools you look for in a high-level forward; continued maturity could unlock another level.
7. Sevyn Cotton | 6’3 P | Prosper Richland
Cotton is a legitimate 6’3 post with impressive versatility for her size and room to continue growing. She has good hands and touch around the basket but will also flash skills outside of a traditional post role—pushing the ball in transition, stepping out for an open three, and running the floor. Improving her mobility and conditioning will help her maximize those tools. I’d also like to see her develop better pace when receiving the ball inside and consistently recognize when she can simply use her size to dominate the paint. There is plenty to work with as she enters high school.
8. Elin McClenny | 6’1 W/F | Wylie
McClenny is a long, mobile forward with elite shot-blocking instincts and timing. Offensively, she can stretch the floor from three and has shown the ability to make plays off the bounce. She possesses a strong feel for the game, rarely looks rushed, and generally plays within the flow of the offense. At 6’1 with her length and versatility, McClenny has the tools to project as a high-level wing. Becoming more aggressive offensively and tightening her handle would allow her to take advantage of more opportunities and develop into a more complete two-way player.
9. Chloe Davis | 5’5 PG | Lake Dallas
Davis is a shifty, crafty point guard with an elite handle and an entertaining style that is backed by a mature offensive game. She can create out of ball screens, has shown impressive range from three, and is capable of carrying a significant scoring load. She should have an opportunity to take on major responsibility during her freshman season at Lake Dallas. Developing a more consistent floater and runner would give her another answer against length at the next level. I’d also like to see her continue becoming more vocal and making more advanced reads out of pick-and-roll situations.
10. Lyric Cunningham | 6’0 W/F | Shadow Creek
Cunningham is a long, mobile athlete with the size, frame, and motor to become an elite defender. She runs the floor well, is effective slashing to the rim in transition, and has the versatility to defend multiple positions. Her defensive tools are currently ahead of her offensive polish, but she has shown flashes on that end. Continued development with her triple-threat game, handle, and overall creation ability will be important. As the skill set catches up with the physical tools and she becomes more assertive offensively, Cunningham has a chance to become a difficult two-way matchup.
11. Ariana Medlock | 5’11 W | Grace Prep
Medlock is a strong, physical wing whose versatility allows her to impact the game in several ways. She can defend across multiple positions, play through the post against smaller matchups, and step away from the basket to knock down shots. Her combination of strength and versatility gives coaches plenty of lineup flexibility. As her perimeter creation continues to develop, Medlock has an opportunity to become an increasingly difficult matchup on both ends.
12. Sophie Young | 5’7 G | Wylie East
Young is a fearless left-handed scorer who thrives when the game opens up in transition. She attacks the rim aggressively, plays with confidence, and can heat up quickly as a scorer. She isn’t afraid of contact or big moments, which stands out for a player entering her freshman season. Continuing to develop the playmaking and decision-making portions of her game will help complement her natural scoring mentality.
13. Jerzy Ceaser | 5’10 G | Tyler Legacy
Ceaser is a long, lanky guard with an intriguing offensive skill set. She can score at all three levels, has good touch on her jumper, and is particularly comfortable operating in the midrange. She will also use her size to post smaller guards, giving her another way to create favorable matchups. Her length provides the tools to eventually become a high-level two-way guard. Adding strength to her frame will help her absorb contact on both ends, while tightening her handle should expand her ability to consistently create her own shot.
14. Ella Clark | 5’10 W | Fulshear
Clark is a versatile point-forward with an advanced feel for the game. She makes good reads, can knock down the three, and provides defensive versatility. At 5’10, she is comfortable functioning as a primary ball handler but can also take advantage of smaller defenders in the post. Clark is returning from injury, which factors into her current placement more than a change in how I view her talent. Her freshman season will provide an opportunity to see how quickly she returns to form and reestablishes herself.
15. Alicia Strickland | 5’4 PG | Georgetown
Strickland is a quick, competitive point guard who plays with energy on both ends. She creates off the bounce, competes defensively, and has shown the ability to distribute and organize an offense. Running the point for an EYBL 15U runner-up provided valuable experience against high-level competition before she even entered high school. Her speed and competitiveness give her a strong foundation, while continued growth as a decision-maker and perimeter scorer will help round out her game.
16. Izabella Weathersby | 5’10 W | Lancaster
Weathersby is a skilled wing who can stretch the floor, make the correct read, and create offense off the bounce. She is comfortable scoring in transition but can also break a defender down when the game slows and create her own shot. Her combination of size and perimeter skill gives her offensive versatility. Becoming more consistent possession to possession and continuing to develop defensively will be important as she adjusts to the high-school level.
17. Ashten Childs | 5’7 PG | Decatur
Childs is a strong, fearless guard who consistently puts pressure on the rim. She embraces contact, rebounds extremely well for her position, and brings impressive offensive versatility. Her strength allows her to play bigger than her listed size and impact possessions in ways that go beyond scoring. As she continues developing as a true point guard and becomes more refined with her reads and pace, Childs has the tools to be a productive two-way guard.
18. Jordan Joubert | 5’5 PG | Beaumont West Brook
Joubert is a quick point guard who can create offense and thrives when she is able to push the pace. She is aggressive in the open court, can score the basketball, and brings a defense-first mentality to the position. Her speed allows her to put pressure on opponents on both ends. Continuing to develop her half-court command and ability to change speeds will make her more difficult to contain when transition opportunities aren’t available.
19. Tia Simmons | 5’9 PG | Denton Ryan
Simmons is a long, lanky point guard with a crafty handle and quick first step. She has excellent size for the position, can create her own shot, and has flashed creativity as a passer, including no-looks and drop-offs to her bigs. Her length also creates defensive opportunities, particularly when getting into passing lanes or reaching in for steals. Improving her motor and continuing to add strength to her frame will be important areas of development. Simmons has a chance to be an immediate contributor for Denton Ryan and could be one of the more interesting freshmen to follow this season.
20. Nora Dainauski | 6’0 W/F | Gunter
Dainauski is a physical 6’0 forward who uses her frame well and finishes through contact. She can play the three but is especially effective at the four, where she can attack bigger defenders off the bounce or punish smaller matchups in the post. Her mid-post game is already a weapon—she can knock down the high-post jumper and has shown the ability to step out and make an open three. Developing a tighter handle and adding more craft to her perimeter game would expand her versatility. She doesn’t need an excessive amount of shake because of her strength; straight-line drives, physical finishes, and well-developed counters can become the foundation of her offensive game.
21. Isabella Allison | 5’11 G/W | Fort Bend Hightower
Allison is a strong, physical guard with good positional size and defensive versatility. At 5’11, she has the strength to defend multiple positions and can use her frame to get downhill and finish around the basket. She has also shown the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter, giving her potential as a versatile two-way guard. As her perimeter skill set and shot creation continue to develop, Allison has the tools to become a difficult matchup on both ends.
22. Melody Bell | 5’6 PG | Panther Creek
Bell is a crafty and poised point guard with an advanced feel for the game. She rarely gets rushed, plays at her own pace, and has the IQ and skill to operate an offense effectively. Bell can knock down the three, has good touch on her floater, and uses different finishes around the basket. The next step will be continuing to develop her speed and athleticism while adding strength to her frame. As she physically develops, I’d also like to see her continue growing as an advanced playmaker and become even more impactful creating opportunities for others.
